Our Empty House!

Daddy this is for you since you're like the only person on the face of the planet without a Facebook, haha Just kidding, Josh doesn't have time for one either ;) Everyone else who has FB has seen these, I think! :)

My very adorable husband in uniform standing outside of our door :)

This is standing in the dining room.

The living room.

The downstairs half bathroom!
One side of the laundry room. Notice the cute sink!! I was so excited.
Just where the wash/dryer go. Cute little window!
Our new home!
The front side. It's connected to another house so the garage you see to the left is theirs.

Our front door, FLOWERS! Dad I'm getting my friend to come teach me to have a GREEN THUMB! ha ha!

The side of the house, where the living room is and above that is the girls bathroom window.

Where the patio ends you see a straight line going up and that half is ours, the other half is the neighbors!

Our patio. The people before us left the nice bricks and stones! Woo hoo.

The name of our street!

Josh's space/storage in the garage! Very nice and roomy.

Downstairs closet, underneath the stairs. I've made this into Kinsley's playroom. It's very spacious & fun for her & it keeps toys out of the living room :)

Standing in the kitchen! We have put our tv up against the stairs then our couch and reclinner on the other wall. Our dining table is underneath that lamp you see.

This is Abby's room. Much bigger than her room in 29!
This is Kinsley's room. Same size as A's room just shaped diff. Very spacious! Love it.

One side of the Girls' bathroom

Other side. Yes, we have double sinks in BOTH bathrooms!!!!

Looking into our bedroom

Our bathroom! A door closing off the toilet/shower. Very nice :)

OUR CLOSET!!!!!!!!! I didnt even get the SHELVES in the picture. This pic doesnt do justice, it's HUGE!

Our bedroom, on the right side theres a big window, a lot of natural light, Love it!

Looking downstairs

Our patio
Our really nice, big, fridge!!

A water dispenser inside the fridge! Really neat. We're getting a water conditioning service to come out and install so that we can have drinkable tap water. California's water is SO GROSS :( and has mysterious things come out of the faucets. Let's not talk about it!

Sunset from our patio.
I was TRYING to cook.. Alone........ But this is just your typical mom!

THE END.
Hope you like our empty house!

It's Been So lOng..

Hellloooo out there~!!!

Well, it's been over a month since you have recieved an update from me! SOOOOO much has happened, I really wish I had brought my laptop to Alabama so I could've kept everyone updated on our happenings.. Oh well. I'll just type what all I can remember. First off, I need to update about our baby who turned 8 months while we were in AL! Last week, I discovered her bottom tooth cutting in!!! Then the next morning she woke up saying her first word..... "DA DA!" Because of that being her first word, I'm most certain she believes ***I*** am 'da da' ;) It melts Josh's little heart to hear her say it, so that makes me really happy and so thankful he's here to see her grow up instead of missing it all because he's deployed! Can I get an Amen..? :)

Anywho, it was a great and LONG (4 whole weeks) trip home! I'm so grateful Josh got that time off before starting his next 4 years of service. He really, really deserved it after doing that martial arts course a while back and then his 8 week instructor school! We got to spend a tonnn of time with Granny & Papa which I'm sure they enjoyed more than we did! Abby (just like every baby) quickly became attached to Granny's hip and she loved it! I hope one day that'll be me & Josh. We got to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary!!! I can't imagine being married that long, Hahah! Without that sounding bad. Granny was 20 and Papa was 2 days away from being 16 years old. Can you believe that? I told Josh granny was a cougar, getting a younger man like that! They are so sweet and I really look up to them, I know Josh does too!

It's a tad overwhelming to try to think of all the things we did while we were home, so that's gonna be it for this post.. Once I get our computer hooked up at our new HOUSE I'll post pictures and I'm sure the pics will tell the stories for me or they'll trigger the memories to help me type about it!

Today is July 22, the day my dear husband checks into his new unit at Camp Pendleton!! He had to wear his alphas (uniform) to check in and he looked SO Good!! He reminded me of the back in the day military men with the khaki 'blouse' and dark green pants and jacket. So cute. He had to be there at 930 and its 10 now so I already wonder how its going! He's got a lot to do before he can get over to housing to get our KEYS TO OUR NEW HOME!! I can't believe it's finally happening! We are all SO excited. Kinsley keeps saying "Ok, Mommy, I'm ready to go to my new house and my new room!" and for a while now she's been talking to "Linda" on her play phone.. and Josh asked her who Linda was and she said "It's my sister" he asked how old she was and Kinsley answered "She's one."  So Kinsley told me yesterday Linda was at our new house... SO, I can't wait to meet her Ha ha!! :) Kids!

MORE LATER!

A blog before we go!

Well since we are flying out on Sunday to Alabama, I figured I'd update one last time!
Wednesday (aka Daddy/Papa's birthday!!) was a crazy busy day for myself. I decided that morning to take matters into my own hands about the house. I just wanted to see if they told ME that the housing we wanted was a 3 month wait. No, they actually told me its a minimum of 6 month waiting. But that there's other housing available today if we wanted it. I called Josh and told him it was a 6 month wait and he told me just to get whatever the nicest housing was on that side of base. Why was that so easy? He's been fighting me with the whole housing thing ever since Apri1! Well, I guess I have housing to thank for that one. ANYWHO- I called back to get more info but what a suprise, NO body was answering the phones! I decided just to go up to base because I knew I'd get faster answers if I were there in person. The Lincoln housing lady was soo nice and told me I could go to the other office down the street (of course.. let me just load up my kids another time) to get a courtesy key and look at the houses available. The woman at that office told me pretty much opposite of what the Lincoln lady told me, saying they had zero houses available in Pacific View (when Lincoln told me they had 58 houses) anyway! She gave me two keys. I won't even waste my time talking about the one house because I fell in absolute LOOVEE with the other!!!! First off, it was huge. And already had that homey feel to it even though it was empty. There was a half bath downstairs and upstairs both bathrooms had double sinks (what?! this is military housing???) master bedroom had a huge walk in closet! There was a utility room (decent size) along with a very roomy two car garage. Oh it was just beautiful! I wanted to stay and move in right then & there... It killllllls me because we could have had it THAT DAY! But since we're going home and Josh isn't checked into his new unit, we have to wait to get a house in that neighborhood when we get back. But at least we are on the list. And she told me the next opening is in July. So, pleeeease, cross your fingers :)

We went by the beach (long day, they needed to get out before we headed out another hour!) after the very chaotic day of getting in and out of carseats and talking to multiple people.. So I'll share those pics in a minute

Last night Elizabeth's Mom & Granny got into San Diego, so this morning they're all gathered downstairs, along with my nosy 3 year old :)

I didn't even add the drama from yesterday with the storage building and moving truck, But I'm tired of typing.. Nevertheless, Josh is getting a truck at noon today & loading it up & heading down to Oceanside. I have a feeling he won't feel like unloading it all tonight. Because that's going to be a super long drive, with traffic, and a heavy truck. So, there goes our Saturday, and then we fly out Sunday. Please pray for us, moving boxes and heavy lifting is not my thing so he gets a tad frustrated with me! :)

Well,
That's my story~!!

My first "big" Earthquake!

Well it's 15 til 11pm and I'm still awake. Thanks to Excedrin that I took about 3 today. It always keeps me up for hours, hopefully it'll die down soon. Anyway! Around 930pm tonight while Jacob, Elizabeth & myself were watching Avatar (good flick by the way..) I heard rattling coming from the roof and I didn't know what was causing it but it instantly scared me and my heart started racing wondering if someone was trying to get into their apartment (intensely breaking in) and I hear metal scratching and then I turn to look at Elizabeth and she says Jacob!?! And he says "it's an earthquake". We had Avatar up pretty loud (plus the surround sound) so Liz thought that we just had the TV up too loud. We all stood up and I got into a surfer like position (we laugh about it now) asking "what do we do!?!?! I've gotta go check on my girls!!!" The TV was rocking so of course Jacob had to go hold it cause that's what's most important in life, obviously :) And me & Elizabeth ran upstairs, just completely confused of what we're supposed to do during a quake. I checked on the girls and Kinsley was staring at me when I opened the door, I'm pretty positive her TV shook and all the shaking woke her up! Bless my babies hearts! I'm so glad nothing was hanging on the walls to possibly fall on them. Turns out it was a 5.7 magnitude earthquake. OH did I mention Josh had left around 5 today to go back to 29 Palms?? Yeah! So he wasn't even next to me when this happened. So I'm kinda scared going to bed alone :(

Let me update on our latest.

Turns out Josh can't check out of his unit in 29 Palms until Thursday (go figure) but good news, he gets 30 days off of work aka "leave". So starting Thursday he's off for a month! Woo hoo!! Oh but not fun news, it turns out that since Josh is checking out of his old unit, in order for the USMC to pay for our move to Camp Pendleton (and since we don't have a house yet) we have to MOVE OUT OF OUR CURRENT STG BUILDING and drive it all down to a storage in CP!!!!!!! I am NOT even kidding!! How COMPLETELY unnecessary is that?!? But yes, we have to waste our time and money moving this Friday to a stg building in Oceanside so that the Marines will pay for it. Ugh. Lovely... But anywho; We decided we'd go home (why not? we don't have a house, and won't get one during his time off, unfortunately!!) so we bought one way tickets to Alabama for this coming Sunday, Father's day :) Our plan right now is to look for an extended cab truck while we're home and drive *yes, I just said drive* it back here to San Diego. What an adventure that would be......... haha! We shall see! I'm looking forward to swimming in Granny & Papa's pool, hanging out with my friends, eating real southern (fatty) meals.. and just being around the people we love most in this world! I think I really am overdue for a little break from mommyhood, so I'm really glad we get to come home and I'll have lots of helping hands nearby!!

I shall update when there's updating due!!

Officially a SOI Instructor!

Prouddddd to announce that my sweet husband is done with his school and is officially a SOI Instructor for the USMC! :) The girls and I drove to San Onofre to watch him graduate yesterday. It was really neat getting to be in the classroom he had spent sooo many hours in these past 63 days. And to see all the guys he had gone through it with! Witnessing something like that makes you even more proud of the job he's doing and makes you especially appreciate him.. He leaves this evening for 29 Palms, he's got a few things to do there for the next week before we can get on the list to get a house (or so they say.. even though some guys already have a house lined up.. but whatever) So the girls and I will be here at Jacob & Elizabeth's without him for quite a while! Times like these makes me really wish Alabama were closer to us so we could just go visit family while he's gone to pass the time. It's going to be a very long 4 years, I'm afraid. The situation with housing (so far) is like this.. The woman he spoke to at housing told him since he's a SGT and we have two kids we have to live in San Onofre 3 (there's 1,2, and 3) which is the closest to his work, which is where we prefer living. Except she said there's a good 3 month wait to get a house. Now, we could settle for other housing on base but that'd mean Josh would have to drive at leastttt 25min to get to work every morning (and being an instructor he will have very very early mornings and late nights) PLUS Josh is selling his Jeep soon so that puts us back to one vehicle. So he'd be gone with the car all day long, leaving us at home. Not in walking distance to the beach (like we would be if we were at San Onfore). We're just going to wait this week out and see what happens. 3 months is a really long time when you don't have a house.. But I have a few options to do while we wait, so we shall see!!
