Today was Kinsley's Birthday party!!!!
Theme: The Little Mermaid!
Weather: Clear skies, with about 45mph winds. IT WAS INSANE! I got mad at the wind, I wanted to punch it..
party originated outside, moved it inside tho, b/c of winds!
Wednesday we woke up and decided we'd go to the Petting Zoo that was opened right behind our house. There were a few field trips going on at the time, clearly. Once they cleared out though we got to see the animals much better.
Their first breakfast together in 6 months!
@ Petting Zoo!
Oh, Hi!
This fella made us laugh. He's so serious w/ the straw in his hair.
Brave girls! Kinsley shocked me when she pet this animal. She may be finally warming up to animals, thank goodness!
We then took the girls to the playground. It was SUCH a beautiful day!
After this we went and ate lunch at Pizza Hut. Then we went to the PX so Whitney could buy a postcard. The girls begged us to see the mountains so I took them on a back road in this lovely town, where I took these pictures.
Isnt Mia's cheerleader pose so cute?
They got big rocks for souvenirs.
Then we came home, & they played in the sand.
Then we got ready for church. Too bad it "wasn't open".
And that's the end of Day two!! Lots of activities! Lots of fun.
Well we had nothing but fun while Whitney & Mia were here! Things changed with their plane the day they got in tho, 'thanks' to Alabama snow.. She was originially coming into Orange County but it got changed and she came into Los Angeles [LAX], instead. The girls and I got there after a very long drive, I parked, not knowing where Whitney's terminal would be and we were early. I strap on Abrielle in her Snugli and grab Kinsley by the hand and swing my big diaper bag over the back of me. Off we go to find "Continental Airlines". Walk, and walk, and walk. This airport is just huuuuuuge. We walk thru the cross walk, get to the other side, "MAMA!! MY SHOE!!" I turn around, her pink little slipper has fallen off her foot! We run back in the cross walk to get that silly shoe back. Whitney calls me and says they've landed and I tell her how exhausted I am so we just find a seat until Whit can call me back with a number or letter she sees out front.. Kinsley starts to whine (we walked, A LOT!) and those little pink shoes were NOT walking material, she has this blister forming on the top of her foot. Great. Not only is she in pain and I'm sweating from carrying Abrielle on the front of me but she's not gonna wear that shoe anymore, I could either let her walk barefoot in the probably most walked on airport in America orrrr I could hold her on my hip. I chose hip. So, off we go again, Kinsley on my hip, Abrielle on the front of me, and heavy diaper bag on the back of me. I felt like Super Woman. And everyone got out of my way, thank goodness. I did afterall, have TWO kids strapped to me!! I asked a man who worked there where Continetal was and I told him where I parked. He looks at me, "Are you serious?? Oh man, it's on the other side of the airport, you're gonna have to drive to it." AWESOME..... So all this walking was for nothing! Ok, so I speed walk to our car, 50lbs heavier. No big deal. Kinsley in her carseat, Abrielle in hers. Both of them crying, not wanting to be back in the car. We speed over to stinkin CONTINENTAL and what do you know, I parked on the WRONG SIDE, where only "Thru Traffic" is allowed. Whatever tho, I stopped, this woman says "You better hurry or they'll get you a ticket!" Whitney comes running over, puts her bags in the car, I grab Mia, buckle her in, and we both jump in the car and drive off.
WHAT a special reunion. One we'll remember, that's for sure.
Afterward, I wanted to show them the Hollywood sign since we were in LA... Bad, bad idea. First we go through this town called like, Koreantown? We said it was China Town but then saw a sign about korean town. We go through that, and heavy traffic, for TOO LONG.. Finally we can see the Hollywood sign from afar but we have to go up these super narrow hilly roads. It was impossible to get up those steep hills in my Jeep because it's engine isn't what the other Jeeps engine is. Anyway, we turned back around, Whitney's feeling nauseous cause she's had such a long and stressful day, we stop at some rinky dink fast food joint for a break and to feed Abrielle. Me & Whitney were about to pop to use the restroom so we ask for the key to get in but offff course, some old drugged out white haired woman was in there, and she never came out! The entire time we were there. Finally we're on the LONG way home and after hours we arrived in good ole, Twentynine Palms! And we finally got to use the bathroom, too! Got the girls a bath and called it a night.
JOSH IS GOING TO SCHOOL OF INFANTRY NEXT MONTH~!~~!
Meaning...
NO deployments (for 3 years, at least)
We can get a pet (he's already got a puppy on the way)
& We're moving!! TO CAMP PENDLETON!!!!!
yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!
I prayed & prayed about this! When Josh first told me on Jan 1st that him deploying was a new possibility I just felt in my heart that it wasn't God's plan for us to stay here. I just had this gut feeling. I had so many plans for this year as a family so when he told me there was a big chance of him going I didn't know what to think., This wasn't my plan!!?! But after my anger and confusion subsided I was like, I guess God's proving me it's not MY plan it's HIS plan. He's the boss, not me. He makes my future NOT ME! So I said to myself "It's not the end of the world if he does deploy, it's "just" 7 months and he'll be back, Lord willing". Of course I never said that out loud because I felt if I said it then it would make it real, and it would happen... It's so gut wrenching to imagine your husband being away from you and your children, YET AGAIN. Being a Marine wife is so tough sometimes but I know God chose me for Josh because He knows I am strong and can handle it, even though I don't want to! Sometimes I wish God didn't think I could take so much so He wouldn't put so much on me, haha.... Hope I'm not wrong for saying that. Anyway, Praise the Lord, Josh isn't going anywhere. I am BEYOND happy and THANKFUL! I appreciate the prayers & support!
Hello hello! The wind out in this desert gets crazy sometimes. It's not like normal wind back home, it's intense, and SAND blows everywhere. If you do your hair before you walk out the door you won't be able to tell once you get to the car, my hair was on all ends yesterday, but it actually made my bangs look better! Kinda funny. Anyway, Saturday we took off to Palm Springs to shop at Toys R Us. We decided we'd have Kinsley a birthday party while Whit & Mia are here, so we needed a few things. We bought a new carseat so Mia will have one when she gets here (I didn't want Whitney to have to lug a big carseat around not to mention have to pay for it to fly). Plus we will need it for Abrielle in the next year anyway, so I told Josh it was an investment :). For her birthday,we bought Kinsley a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Choo-Choo Train (she's been wanting one for sooooo long now) and a little tikes "cozy coupe" she looked SO cute driving it around in the store! I originally wanted to get her a bike but she liked the car better. Both our girls have stuffy noses. And it's terrible having a newborn with any kind of sickness, ESPECIALLY stuffy nose! She barely could sleep last night, help!!!! I tried the nose sucker and it didn't help. AHhhhhh! Anyway after Toys r us we went to Chuck E Cheese for a late lunch! It was fun but it was packed, we were glad to get home afterward. Yesterday Josh washed the Jeep and of course Kinsley wanted to go play in the "MUD PUDDLES! MAMA!" (sand puddles, technically) I stayed inside the house and made Puppy Chow while they played outside. I am officially eating that for breakfast, ugh I am so unhealthy.
WHITNEY AND MIA WILL BE HERE TOMORROW! Oh my word, I am so excited!!!! We've got so much planned to do, it'll be so much fun! I need to do laundry but hmmm what a surprise I am just not motivated to do so! The house is clean tho THANKS TO MY AMAZING HUSBAND who cleaned it top to bottom yesterday while we were at church.
XOXO Chynna
I was so proud of my camera for capturing all the colors! No edit!
