Splendid Saturday :)

Today was my first Saturday off since December and it was AMAZING. We had all three princesses to entertain and didn't waste a single minute which I am so thankful for! First we just let them run around the yard and then Josh decided to wash my Jeep (yay!) so they had A LOT of fun in the water! Fed them lunch then off to nap.. Soon as they woke up we took them to the beach and they played their hearts out!! We had so much fun and it was near 80 today so it was wonderful! I have pictures!

ADAPTIVE!

Soooo I'm finally done with the two weeks of Protege at school, and this past week has been my first week as an Adaptive student!! Jennay & I switched our school schedules to Monday-Friday (instead of Tues-Sat) because we both are Marine wives whose husbands are barely home & Saturdays are our only day to see them really. So hopefully this schedule will work out perfectly as planned! Monday we went in to school as fresh new Adaptives, about to take our very first client!! My first clients name was Jaqueline and I was literally shaking when I was writing down her information! I was like, chill outttt Chynna. She made me SO comfortable and asked me lots of questions about school and shared alot of her personal life with me. She goes to school at UC of San Diego & is on their track team, etc, etc. She was so sweet & loved her haircut!!! Then after lunch I cut this 5 year olds hair, whose mom is in the same class as me! It was actually her 5th birthday so I felt so honored to be cutting this special little girls hair! I thought I was done for the day but the girl at the front desk asked me did I want ANOTHER client!!!! I definitely didn't want to pass up the learning experience so I took her to my chair & snipped away.. :) I cut over 3 inches plus layers and she LOVED it and gave me a big hug after! It felt so good knowing that your client LIKES/LOVES their hair cut! Especially when its your FIRST DAY cutting a real persons hair! I chose to not tell my clients it was my first day, I think them knowing that would somehow make me even more nervous.

Okay so after that day I didn't get anymore clients, just did "boxes" (a sheet of boxes with things written inside that we have to get done with by the end of the month Ex: Facial, Perm, Manicure) most of which can be done on a doll head. But this morning we were about to get started on facials til I was called down to do a hair cut!! Her name was Lucia (I LOVE THAT NAME BTW!) and I cut a good 3 inches off plus layers, she had BEAUTIFULLY natural wavy hair so I just applied some product on her hair and did my first ever Diffuse! It turned out so good I wish I had taken a picture. But I was so unprepared- I went to school thinking I wouldn't get a client. All in all- I'd call my first week as an Adaptive student, AWESOME!

my Kinsley- she has Bronchiolitis & has been PITIFUL and on an inhaler & meds but is clearing up nicely :) Josh took her to the doctor on Monday (completely broke MY heart because IM THE MOMMA & I've never not taken her to the dr!!) He did a GREAT job with her though I was SO IMPRESSED he's seriously a wonderful, wonderful Daddy. Kinsley will be FOUR YEARS OLD next wk, March 9!!!!!!!! I can't believe I'm old enough to have a 4 year old! HOW WEIRD! :) Right now we just plan to let her have a whole day at CHUCKIE CHEESES! Then when Whitney comes, Sea World :)

my Abrielle- she has a big fat belly! we love it. so does she. if you ask her where her belly, hands, toes, and eyes are she will point to them or show me them. ITS SO CUTE! she's all giggles & grins and is constantly making us laugh and smile!
sweetie peetie Mia- she's enjoying her time here with us and is REALLY hanging in there without her mommy!!! March 19 whitney is flying out here so we are LITERALLY counting down the days! WoO HoOO!

P.S.
Tuesday- March 1, 2011; I came home from school & trimmed Kinsley's virgin hair FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME IN HER Near 4 years of living!! Super cute and then I trimmed Preslee's bangs (We havent been taught bangs yet so me trimming them was tricky but we survived) and I also trimmed up Mama's layers and gave her a serious blow dry!! My arms were in pain :)

'Graduated' Core!

Sorry I've not blogged in a while but I have a great excuse- I am busy! :) The first 6 weeks of the Paul Mitchell program is what they call "Core", and awesome news- I passed! & Will be moving on to Protégé for the next two weeks, then I'll be in Adaptive until I've been in school about 800 hours (half way done). I think the week I didnt blog we did hair cutting, then we did spa week, then this past week was our floor test and written test. Hair cutting week was CHALLENGING. There's much more to haircutting than you could imagine. We had to do a men's cut and that... that was difficult for me. First we used the clippers (in my mind it's an electric razor thingy ma jig.) then we used scissors over comb. Tomorrow at school we had to find a male model to cut their hair!! THANKFULLY THO-It's not a test! I'm relying on a friend's friend to come. If he doesn't show up I will have to literally go outside and try finding a guy!! Please do not let that happen to me......... Okay so then we had Spa Week. Really calm, relaxing week. We did manicures on each other, gave each other facials (lying on the table in the dark with candles all around, and soft music) it was the real deal and felt amazing!! We did waxing on each other. I didn't want anything waxed for real so I let Jennay wax all my fingers, and I waxed her arm in a few spots! It was really funny because girls were waxing their eyebrows THEMSELVES and also their "mustaches". It was so funny and we all had too much fun dealing with wax! We did makeup this week too, I loved that. I gave Emilia a mini makeover  and she looked AMAZING! I think I did a pretty good job at makeup. Once we have 500 hours we can join the Design Team at school, they do some REALLY cool stuff like makeup/hair at fashion shows and I can't wait to get involved. Pictures will surely catch you up on what I've been doing.

Today I am suppose to color Preslee's hair a dark brown or something- I'll try to remember to take before & after pictures!

XOXO
